The Green Sandle

By the highway.

On the other side

of the railway.

A story happened.

On the other side,

A small green sandle

lies, among the garbage

so carelessly tossed.

A small green sandle

All alone, forever unnoticed

until this moment,

when I walked by.

All alone, forever unnoticed,

once worn by a child,

perhaps a girl

with dimples in her cheeks.

Once worn by a child,

now, alone and deserted.

On the other side,

by the highway.

What did you think? I'd love to hear from you!
