Sun’s Ray

Rising upon the dawn of morn

Creeping, seeping, bleeding

Over housetops and through windows

The warmth of the sun.

Waking me from the slumber

Which the darkness of night

Had wrapped around my shoulders

Like an embrace.

Another day begins

Full of promises for Spring’s arrival

And the departure of Winter,

We are happy to see her go.

  1. Beautifully written – I love how you describe the dawn as creeping, seeping, bleeding, the alliteration of the “ee”‘s is very cool. But the end is my favorite – because I too am ready to see winter go 🙂

What did you think? I'd love to hear from you!
